BF6 Players Agree: Missions Are Excessively Difficult
The debut of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered broad praise, especially for its premier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, live player figures peaked at nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, a growing number of players are voicing discontent with a portion of the release's hardest challenges, which are mandatory to unlock specific weapons.
Users have commenced using personalized games made via the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, emphasizing just how demanding these challenges have become.
Comprehending BF6 Objectives
Assignments are Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, in contrast to the frequently updated day-to-day and weekly tasks. There are four classes of assignments, but where most simply offer outfits and select equipment, completing the weapon assignments is the exclusive means of getting twelve from the forty-one primary weapons available in the game.
Some of these locked weapons may soon find their way on lists of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration via Reddit
Within Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how difficult and grindy several of these challenges are. A particular gamer pointed out one of the most outrageous examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This task is so atrocious and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a statement that captures just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.
The suppression feature in the game is less effective than in previous titles in the series, so it lacks nearly as many benefits in combat as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Meanwhile, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and is effective only at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you want to be. The commenter also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that task would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and conversely.
Another Ridiculously Tough Challenge
Another Reddit user highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, within the marksman rifle class to unlock the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills from more than 200 meters away with long-range weapons
This is tough enough as it is, but there's one more key thing to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at that kind of range.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game at present, it restricts you to playing a specific urban map, a particular valley environment, and possibly a classic map in a best-case scenario if you aim to take long-range shots from beyond 200 meters.
The Alternative Method
Nevertheless, a method exists: the portal. The Battlefield Portal is a tool that allows you to design tailored experiences on any map you prefer, featuring computer-controlled players. This allows you can exploit the mechanics… but it doesn't really seem like the spirit of the game.
But when doing the challenges in a normal session seems counterproductive, since you are forced to participate in such an unconventional way that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can fault a player for completing them in a private match so teammates aren't hindered?
Future Adjustments
It won't come as a surprise if some of these assignments are made easier in the near future, because should they remain unchanged, certain gamers simply won't get their hands on the locked firearms.
Currently, the audience continues to voice their opinions on these demanding multiplayer missions, expecting a more balanced gaming experience in coming revisions.
